District Court Update
District Court Criminal Practice Note 27 will cease to apply to all jury trials in the District Court from Tuesday 11 April 2023.
Accordingly, court participants will no longer be required to undertake a Rapid Antigen Test and members of the public will be able to attend court in person.
The Court will return to its pre-COVID-19 operations from 11 April 2023. However, continues to encourage remote appearances, which are convenient to the Court and the parties.
Enquiries relating to COVID-19-related fines
On 6 April 2023, the Supreme Court published its reasons for judgment in the case: Beame; Els v Commissioner of Police & Ors [2023] NSWSC 347.
