Firearms protocol

The Protocol that was entered into by the Commissioner of Police and the Sheriff of New South Wales on 10 August 2015, which enables Police Officers to retain carriage of their firearms, is subject to the following condition in the District Court:

“Where facilities exist and the presiding Judicial Officer considers it appropriate, the Police Officer may be permitted to give his or her evidence from the remote witness suite within a Courthouse or remotely via authorised video link.”
